The Student Leadership Summit (SLS) will use the Social Change Model of Leadership Development as a framework for a series of guided conversations, engaging activities, and keynote address. Participants will spend most of the day engaging with a smaller cohort of students, led by a Staff SLS Facilitator. This program is meant for students (both undergraduate and graduate students alike) with an interest in developing their leadership style, regardless of where they may be at on their leadership development journey; whether you're just starting to explore what leadership means to you or you've held a variety of formal leadership positions in the past, there will be something for you at the Summit! Students who attend the summit will leave with a new network of peer student leaders from across campus, an increased appreciation for their own leadership style, and the inspiration to create positive change on campus or in the community.
This year’s Student Leadership Summit will be held at the Alta Peruvian Lodge (in Little Cottonwood Canyon), on Saturday, November 2nd. Students will need to commit for the entire day on Saturday, November 2, arriving at the Union Building no later than 8:00am for a prompt departure (by bus) to Little Cottonwood Canyon. Registration is $20 and includes transportation to and from the Union Building to the Alta Peruvian Lodge, Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and an amazing leadership development experience. If you would like to attend the summit but the registration fee poses an obstacle for you, please do not hesitate to contact us at the email below to discuss options.
About the Keynote
Student Leadership & Involvement is pleased to announce that the keynote for the Student Leadership Summit will be Congressman Ben McAdams! Rep. Meet the 2019 Summit Faciliators
Summit participants will experience the majority of the day within smaller groups, guided through a series of small group discussions, team building activities, case studies, and reflection. Each small group will have a professional staff member from the University of Utah, who will serve as their facilitator throughout the day. Our SLS facilitators are from various areas of campus bringing different lenses and areas of expertise to this learning experience, and are all passionate about student leadership development. Meet our 2019 facilitators below!
